Orphanage Will Close June 17th...
We've been joined by two new monkeys...diminutive Peanut (made from size 3 toddler socks!) and despondent little Matilda Louise Jenkins. The remaining monkeys all spent the day together playing on the lawn and later hanging out in the family room. The Sock Monkey Orphanage will be closing on June 17th. So, if you have been considering adopting a monkey but just haven't gotten around to it yet, there's only a few days left to do so!

Update: Aaron has now been adopted. (the dark striped monkey with large wooden eyes) Larry has also been adopted!

Girl's Day Out...
Maria has been busy sewing! Since she's not too experienced at it yet, her zig zags are extra zaggy, but that's just fine with her! She's thoroughly delighted with her new hat and short summery dress! Maria and Emily spent most of the day today hanging out together in the front lawn of the Orphanage.

Maria and Emily are still both hoping to find a family of their own, soon!

These Four Monkeys are Still Wistfully Waiting to Find a Family of Their Own!
Update: Maria was adopted on 6/9/10 and Aaron was adopted on 6/12/10. Larry was adopted on 6/13/10. Emily, as well as Lilac (not shown here), is still awaiting a home and family of her own!

The monkeys were all so sweet to pause in the playing long enough this afternoon for a quick group photo! They are all loving these wonderfully sunny days!
Emily is sporting new duds. Meanwhile, George came back to the orphanage specifically to get a new outfit... He is pleased with what we came up with for him. He thinks Grace will be delighted with the outfit, too! We sure were glad to get to visit with him again!
Meanwhile, Doug has changed River's name to "Rock Star Joe". Joe is getting fully in the swing of his new identity, borrowing Doug's sunglasses which do go nicely with his sporty new shirt!

Emily

Name: Emily
Date of Arrival: 4-20-10
Unique Feature: First wool-blend monkey
Emily is perpetually curious! She is a pleasant monkey that always looks on the bright side. She has also won awards for her achievements in weight lifting. Many think she has a good chance of making the next Olympic wrestling team. She is a hardy, happy monkey!
